John Mellencamp suggests a way that fellow singer Willie Nelson can be honored for 25 years of helping American farmers through Farm Aid.
Nelson should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Mellencamp said via webcast during a news conference Monday announcing details of the Oct. 2 Farm Aid concert at Miller Park.
"He has helped millions and millions of people," Mellencamp said.
Will Allen, the founder of Growing Power in Milwaukee, said at the news conference: "Farm Aid coming here caught me by surprise. It's such a wonderful thing. Unlike so many groups, the money Farm Aid raises doesn't just go to administration. It goes to the farmers."
Tickets for "Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope for America" go on sale at 9 a.m. Aug. 14, at the Brewers box office, by calling (414) 902-4000 or online at www.tickets.com.
Ticket prices range from $39.50 to $97.50.
